just livin' the dream, ya'll

Washed my undies by hand today! Laundromat shmaundromat, that's what I say. (Actually I'm just that much of a hermit.)

Other than scrubbing panties in the sink, my hands have been quite busy working on a new piece for my sculpture class. No details yet!

BROOOOOOOOOKLYNNNNNN
Well, well, well, I have no idea if anyone is still watching, BUT! I'm back! After a summer of sipping lemonade on the sandy shore of Maryland, I now find myself tucked into the smallest apartment imaginable in Brooklyn, gearing up for another busy semester. So, keep you eyes peeled, ladies and germs, who knows what I'll cook up!

Meanwhile, let me show you my new digs.

green

This is a series I shot over the break for my friend Lindley's project, The Ones We Love. My photos haven't been added to the website yet, but you should go check it out anyway! www.theoneswelove.org

Zach is, and will always be, one of the most important people in my life. No matter what.

i need trees and dirt and open space
I have about 2 more drawings to complete and 1 more critique to go until I can hop on a train back to Mary Land this upcoming Friday. I haven't been feeling so hot lately. I just want my Mommy!

Eeeeesh, not the best pictures.
Here is the finished photo quilt (100% hand stitched!) and my big ol' plaster *cake! Both projects, as well as my Hair video were made for my sculpture class. Critique was last Wednesday, and I'm proud to say that it went super well.

*Note: I showed my cake along side a plate of cookies (on Dora the Explorer plates!!!!!!) mainly because I noticed that the sight of the cake itself made everyone in my class especially hungry/ravenous/sassy. I didn't want to start a riot!

timeline

This is a timeline of self portraits taken from 2004 to the present. Some of these are so melodramatic, it's hilarious. I'm almost embarrassed! Ah, teenage angst.

Looking at these, I can't help but remember the ridiculousness of my high school years. It's funny, now that I have barely any hair, I feel more feminine than ever.

skin hunger

These are two of the three objects I had in the photoFEAST show at Parsons. (Which I would have chickened out on if it weren't for miss Alana Celii, Wonder Woman of the internet and art world) The third object was one of the little "You" books.

The stitched polaroids are sort of a test for a much bigger photo quilt type project I'm about to start working on!
